John Corlis is a native of Colorado Springs, CO but has called Los Angeles home since graduating from CSUN in 2006 with a Bachelors of Music in Media Composition. He received a scholarship for classical piano, received the Ada Beth Lee Memorial award from the music department and was a member of the prestigious Northridge Singers which was named “Choir of World” during his time with the group. He grew up accompanying choirs, singers and instrumentalists on the piano which propelled his passion for songwriting and scoring films. Over the years. John has scored numerous films that vary in genre from Horror to Poetic Shorts. He has expanded his repertoire to commercial writing as well ands landed some prominent placements on TV for large brands. He considers himself a versatile writer and believes that media composition allows him the freedom to play with different genres and musical ideas. He believes that film scores are one of the best contributions to modern day instrumental music.
